Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is steering its course towards placing its brand name on the global academic map. Under the helm of its Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ir. A major breakthrough was achieved over the last few days at Ditchley Roundtable Conference jointly organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. The three-day conference, on the theme “Science in Muslim Societies: Past and Present”, was held in Ditchley Park, Oxford, from 11th to 13th May 2012. The fully packed three-day conference saw leading world experts, scientists and intellectuals together with selected professors from Universiti Teknologi Mal 
OXFORD: The Ditchley Rountable Conference on Muslim and Science can be a catalyst to promote better understanding of lslam and the Islam world.
Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah, the consort of the sultan of Johor, said the exchange of ideas at the conference would help dispel negative images and perceptions about Islam.
She was speaking here yesterday in her capacity as the Chancellor of UTM on the eve of the two-day conference themed "Science in Muslim Societies: Past and Present",
